SAILING & MOTOR YACHT CAPTAIN – EXPERIENCE & DISCRETION

Professional captain services for sailing and motor yachts on private voyages and charters. Experienced in handling large vessels, with a strong focus on safety, responsibility, and discreet collaboration with yacht owners and crew.

Yacht and Motorboat Captain – Experience and Responsibility

A good captain does more than simply operate a yacht. The role also involves taking responsibility for the vessel and everyone on board, planning voyages carefully, and responding effectively to changing conditions at sea.

My name is Jacek Mirczak. I am a licensed sailing and motor yacht captain and an experienced skipper. I operate sailing and motor yachts across a range of waters, from the Baltic and North Seas to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean.

I tailor each engagement to the type of vessel, cruising area, planned route, and the owner’s expectations. My priorities are safety, responsibility, careful voyage planning, and professional cooperation with everyone on board.

Handling Large and Challenging Yachts

I operate sailing and motor yachts, including large vessels over 76 feet in length..

I can take command of a yacht for an entire voyage, captain the vessel on passages between ports, or work alongside the owner according to an agreed scope of responsibilities.

When operating large yachts, responsibility, independence, careful voyage planning, and the ability to assess conditions are especially important. Professional conduct, effective teamwork with the crew, and respect for the vessel’s onboard procedures are equally essential.

Captain of a Large Motor Yacht

Operating a large motor yacht requires a strong sense of responsibility, a thorough understanding of the vessel, and the ability to make sound decisions in changing conditions. Beyond boat-handling skills, it also involves passage planning, assessing conditions, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the vessel.

I take on captaincy assignments for motor yachts, including large vessels. Before we begin, we discuss the yacht’s characteristics, the planned voyage, the schedule, and the captain’s responsibilities.

Private Voyages and Discretion

When working aboard private yachts, professionalism also means respecting the privacy of the owner and guests.

I understand that a private voyage does not need to be documented or shared on social media. That is why I consider discretion an essential part of my work. I respect all agreements regarding information about the owner, guests, vessel, and details of the voyage.

I tailor each engagement to the owner’s expectations and the nature of the voyage.

Cruising Areas and Scope of Services

I have extensive knowledge of cruising areas such as the Baltic Sea, the North Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Mediterranean Seaincluding the waters of Greece, Croatia, and Italy.

I am also available for yacht captain assignments in other cruising areas. Each engagement is discussed individually, taking into account the vessel, route, schedule, and specific requirements of the voyage.

Captain or Skipper?

The terms “captain” and “skipper” are sometimes used interchangeably, especially in yacht charter services. However, clients may have different needs depending on the type of vessel and voyage.

Someone chartering a yacht for a vacation is usually looking for a skipper who can safely manage the voyage and help the crew make the most of their planned trip.

An owner of a private yacht, particularly a large motor or sailing yacht, may instead need a captain to operate the vessel and take on an agreed scope of responsibilities.

Regardless of the title, the most important qualities are experience, responsibility, teamwork, and trust.
